One of the many successes of the B'nai B'rith Lodges was the formation of the Friendship Club. In July 1969 invitations were sent to everyone in the Jewish Community over the age of 60, with a view to forming a Friendship Club. The first informal meeting was held on 10th August 1969 where an informal discussion took place and the Friendship Club was officially formed. This club provided senior members of the community with a chance to get together to meet and have social outings.
