A large collection of correspondence and papers relating to celebrations for the eightieth anniversary of Owens College in May 1930 [the anniversary is obviously that of the legal foundation of Owens College, rather than the actual opening of the College, which occurred in 1851]. The material includes correspondence relating to the planning of events, minutes of the Committee on Jubilee Celebrations, and arrangements for a degree ceremony held at Free Trade Hall on 23 May 1930. There is a considerable amount of printed material associated with the commemoration including programmes, handbooks, invitations, menu cards, and official notices. There is also a small body of newspaper cuttings about the Jubilee.
