This sub-fonds contains photographs documenting Oliver Messel's career as a costume and set designer, including photographs taken on set and publicity shots. The photographs were taken by a number of professional photographers, including Angus MacBean, Cecil Beaton and Gordon Anthony. A number of photographs are informal shots of Oliver Messel, family and friends including studio photographs and publicity shots of his celebrity acquaintances, some of which are signed.
