Administrative / Biographical History
The Society of Friends Allotment Committee was founded in 1930 and had contact with the Ministry of Agriculture when the Agricultural Land (Utilization) Bill of 1931 was being written up. Based in London it began a scheme for the unemployed of England that served as a template for SASU, and a representative from the Allotments Committee sat on the SASU Joint Committee.
