Scope and Content

LETTER: Uncle John [Capt. John Owen], Barque Lizette, Marseilles to Ellen Jane [Parry]. He hopes that her father has received a letter from him enclosing an insurance policy for £150 in case he should meet with an accident and lose his effects. He hopes to get away soon and asks her to direct her letter to British Consul, rio de Janeiro. He hopes that her business is improving and that she makes a fortune especially after Sarah has set up her dressmaking establishment. He wishes to be remembered to Dr. and Mrs. Hughes and her cousin John Owen and his mother, also "Yr hen chwaer" and "old Par".
