Letter from Ed[ward Feild, Bishop of] Newfoundland to William Grey. Encloses testimonials of W.G.'s good character (see EGR4/8/7/2/11 below), with apologies for the long delay. Conveys news of W.G.'s former church [at Portugal Cove, Newfoundland] and describes the progress made by his successor, Mr Johnson. The new church, in the course of being erected, blew down in a gale, as did the partly dismantled remains of the old church. The damage has now been repaired. Asks W.G. to assist with plans for finishing and decorating the new Cathedral at St John's.
