Scope and Content

Those studying and teaching the literature and history of World War One will find the wealth of primary source material available via this digital archive fascinating.

The online collection holds manuscripts and correspondence from the acknowledged great First World War poets, including Edmund Blunden; Vera Brittain; Robert Graves; Ivor Gurney; David Jones; Roland Leighton; Wilfred Owen; Isaac Rosenberg; Siegfried Sassoon; and Edward Thomas. This collection also offers the ability to use annotated 'routes' through the available material.

The additional Great War Archive user community provides access to further fascinating secondary sources, including imagery, written sources and recordings pertaining to life at war and on the Home Front.
