The Kirklees collections also cover the records of over thirty local branches of co-operative societies in the district, reflecting the rich history of this movement; records which represent the political, social, charitable, sporting and educational diversity of the area; records reflecting the strong musical heritage of the area; and family and estate records, including those of the Ramsdens of Byram and Longley, Beaumonts of Whitley, and the Thornhills of Fixby.
