The Physical Chemistry building was a planned building, which would have been located on the western side of campus close to the former chemistry buildings in Burlington St. The project was masterminded by Professor Michael Polanyi, but had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of the Second World War. The architects were Thomas Worthington and Sons. The surviving documents include electrical services specifications, ventilation services specifications, miscellaneous plans, and correspondence relating to ventilation, air conditioning and compressed air services between Arthur Ramsey, the consulting engineer for the project.
