Scope and Content

G. K. CHESTERTON PAPERS. VOL. CLX B. Poems written for the most part to Frances Chesterton, mostly autograph fair copies, but some in draft and others fair copies in the hand of Frances Chesterton; circa 1898-1906. The book was compiled by G. K. Chesterton for presentation to Frances, who then continued it herself with transcriptions and insertions of poems given to her. The book is discussed in Return to Chesterton, pp. 30-33, a note in the hand of Dorothy Collins pasted on the cover identifies the poems as written for Frances and states that the Chestertons did not wish further publication.
