Amos, Sir Percy Maurice Maclardie Sheldon (1872-1940) Knight

Born 1872, son of Sheldon Amos. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge where he got a first class in moral sciences tripos, 1893-1895. He was called to the bar (Inner Temple) in 1897 and became judge of Cairo native court in 1903. He served the native court of appeal, 1906-1912. He was Director of the Khedival School of Law, 1913-1915 and became judicial adviser to the Egyptian government 1917-1925. He was Quain professor of comparative law in London 1932-1937. Received his KBE 1922 and KC 1932
