Administrative / Biographical History

The Cardiff and District Association of University Women was established prior to 1909, possibly around the time of the establishment of The British Federation of Women Graduates in 1907. It was discontinued in 1991. The aims of the Association were given on a publication in 1909. They were to provide an opportunity for expression of united opinions by University women on matters that affect them; to encourage independent research work by women; to facilitate inter-communication and co-operation between women of different universities; and to stimulate the interest of women in public life.
