Scope and Content

B&W photographic print. 'Mongsemdi, or Mongsenyimti, is now a Chongli village, but the Mongsem first occupied the site. A woman is seated on a low stool on her sitting-out platform, de-seeding cotton. A man and a boy are weaving baskets, a task reserved exclusively for males. Various other types of basket can be seen in the picture. Behind the man is the woven screen used for closing the door at night.'
