Scope and Content

B&W photographic print. 'Opya: The base of a tree bristling with spears. For this ceremony, a log is set up just outside the village, a cockerel is sacrificed and placed at its base, then all the men of the village, dressed in full finery, throw their spears at it, shouting as if in battle, before returning to their Morung singing the chant of returning head-hunters.'
