Scope and Content

B&W photographic print. 'Morung post and drum, Yazuthu (Sangtam). -This huge hollowed-out log has been dragged to the site and will be carved at each end and a drum-house built over it. Before it can be beaten for the first time, however, a head must be obtained and placed in the groove at the top. The drum is used on ceremonial and warlike occasions and is struck by a line of warriors standing on either side.'
