Administrative / Biographical History

A farm at Urco was acquired by Regions Beyond Missionary Union for the purpose of mission work with Peruvian Indian native peoples. When Regions Beyond Missionary Union joined EUSA, the farm was purchased by EUSA in 1912 by C Hay Walker. Thomas E Payne arrived in Peru in 1919, and he developed the farm considerably. However, as time went on, the farm did not prove as profitable as EUSA had hoped.
