Lease for 42 years from 29 Sep 1854, sum of 9d by way of rent for every ton of 20 hundred weight of coal or culm worked, raised or landed out of or from 3 veins of coal and culm hereby demised, sum of 2d by way of toll for every ton of coal or culm of 20 hundred weight worked or raised or yearly further sum of money as will make up full rent of £400 which would have been payable in respect of coal or culm raised, 2 Oct 1854; (i) Henry Charles Fitz Roy, Duke of Beaufort, to (ii) Phillip Richard and John Glasbrook, both of Swansea, colliery proprietors and copartners: 3 mines, veins or seams of coal and culm called 6 feet vein, 3 feet vein and 2 feet vein in or under tract of land called the Fee of Trewyddva formerly in tenure or occupation of Sir John Morris. Together with engines and machinery mentioned and specified in schedule: (ii), their executors, administrators and assigns will yearly and every year during term work, raise or land from and out of mines, veins or seams of coal and culm hereby demised at least 10,666 tons and two thirds of ton of coal and culm; Endorsed: licence to demise by way of underlease for 24 years, 31 Dec 1872.
