Agreement, 20 Apr 1912; (i) Geoffry Francis Pinkney of Picton, Ontario, Canada, retired captain in His Majesty's Army, acting by his attorney Arthur Charles Saunders of Gwylfa, Sketty, Swansea, collector of customs and excise, with (ii) John Glasbrook and David Mansel Glasbrook: (i) agrees to grant and (ii) agree forthwith to take lease and execute counterpart thereof of seam of coal and fireclay associated therewith as now opened and worked by (ii) from their No. 3 Garngoch pits and sometimes known as 5 foot seam. And seam of coal and fireclay associated therewith proved by (ii) in their Garngoch No. 2 pits to be at depth of 145 yards or thereabouts below seam hereinbefore mentioned and sometimes known as 6 foot seam under or within farm and lands called Penderry in parish of Llangyfelach containing by estimation 213¼ acres. Term shall be 35 years from 25 Mar 1912. Rent shall be £320 per annum. Royalty shall be 7d per ton of 2,240 pounds of coal. Royalty on fireclay 3d per ton of 2,240 pounds.
