This series contains papers relating to the WO Association, which was established in 1989 and which DW joined in 1990, becoming a vice-president in 1993. The papers include correspondence, newsletters, publicity material, photographs and other papers. Much of this relates to the WO centenary celebrations which took place in 1993; events were held in Shrewsbury, Birkenhead and at the Imperial War Museum, and most significantly a memorial plaque was unveiled at Oswestry, where the poet was born. The newsletters chart other events, activities and personnel of the society; and the correspondence includes DW's first approach to the Association, having discovered its existence through a chance conversation and feeling disappointment that he had not been consulted during the group's establishment.

Arrangement
The file listed in DSW/1/3/4/1 was compiled by DW himself and largely relates to the 1993 centenary celebrations; this has therefore been left intact. The other material was loose and disordered, and has now been arranged into bundles based on format.
