Correspondence with I.M. Parsons of Chatto and Windus, relating to Chatto's rejection of DW's critical study of WO. Parsons outlines the reasons for this: Harold and Mary Owen have come to rely on Chatto as personal advisors in all matters connected with WO's work; Parsons feels that publishing DW's thesis would put Chatto in an embarrassing position because it includes an element of biography as well as a statement referring to Harold Owen's refusal to grant access to WO's papers. Parsons suggests some revisions DW might consider making before submitting his thesis to other publishers. The file also includes DW's notes of telephone conversations he has had on the matter with Sassoon, L.C. Knights, and Edmund Blunden, all of whom believe his thesis is worthy of publication.
