Scope and Content

File of correspondence with poet and biographer Edith Sitwell, and writer Osbert Sitwell. The file consists of four copy letters from DW, one Christmas card from E. and O. Sitwell, one letter from E. Sitwell and one letter from her secretary. Topics covered include: arrangements for DW to visit the Sitwells at Renishaw Hall [in 1947]; DW's problems with Harold Owen in 1948, including the letter Harold published in the Times Literary Supplement; E. Sitwell's regret in that WO's mother is not still alive; Sassoon's unexpected decision to see DW in May 1950, and his subsequent assistance; and DW's receipt of further help from WO's cousin, E. Leslie Gunston.

The Christmas card and E. Sitwell's letter are holograph.
