By Richard Bradley F.R.S., Professor of Botany at the University of Cambridge. Volume covers 12 lecutres:
Lecture 1: Of Earth and its use in Vegetation and of particular soyles
Lecture 2: Of the use of Water (as it relates to the improvement of land in the education and nourishment of vegetables with an account of the most rational and practicable methods of Raining or forcing it to such parts where it is wanted)
Lecture 3: Of such lands as are overflowed on Lye continually under water whether occasioned by the over flux of the Rivers or the Sea, with an account of the severall methods of draining such lands & of bringing them to a state of fertility
Lecture 4: Concerning the anatomy of Plants and the use of their several parts
Lecture 5: Of the use of the system of the Circulation of Sap in Plants, and of the Improvements which may be made from the Knowledge of the Generation of Plants
Lecture 6: OF the different ways of increasing of Plants by Layers, Cutings, Roots and Leaves and of the different methods of improving them by Inarching, Inoculating, Grafting and approaching.
Lecture 7: Of the severall methods of planting trees either for pleasure or profit
Lecture 8: Concerning the pruning of Fruit Trees, either suchas are trained against walls, or in Espaliers, or in Dwarfs
Lecture 9: Of the pruning of Vines and Figgs and of the Disposition of a Kitchen Garden
Lecture 10: Of the Culture of Flowers
Lecture 11: Of Exotic Plants and their Culture (with directions for the Building of Green houses, stoves, and proper conservatories for the most tender plants)
Lecture 12: Of Artificiall Heats used in Gardens for the raising of Curious Annuall plants and for the Ripening of Fruits and forceing them in Winter to wch is added severall particulars relating to Melons, Cucumbers and Mushroom's
