Meroë: Meroitic Pottery

Scope and Content

Image of three reconstructed cream marl ware pottery vessels, including (from left) an unusual cup with spiked leaf decoration (reconstructed with fragments from site 923); a cup decorated with dark brown figural painting; and a hemispherical bowl decorated with stars on the interior and base decorated with a large rosette and a geometrical pattern. Handwritten note with negative states 'Meroë Album N2 28'.

The vessel on the left is now in the Louvre, Paris.
