Meroë site 1000: Stela

Scope and Content

Image of the whole of the Meroitic inscription on Hamadab stela A found at site 1000 (Hamadab). Note on back of album print states 'Large Stela with inscription of 42 lines found at the entrance of a shrine 2 kilos South of the Royal City.' and in another hand 'Inscribed in 42 lines of Meroitic writing. The full meaning of this historical text is still a problem for scholars'. Album print marked 'no negative found' and '1000 M14'.
