A pale [pencil?] sketch drawn by Horst Schliephack on the emulsion of the negative whilst in Hamath, (Hama, Syria). The portrait is of an Arabic speaking carriage drive who was born in Urfa (Şanliurfa, Syria). Garstang used the image as an example of a ‘surviving Hittite Type’ in Land of the Hittites (see p16 note 9).
