Papers relating to Lovell's interest in "near earth objects" (asteroids and comets) as a potential threat to Earth. Correspondents include Victor Klube,Thomas Callos, Ted Conrad, and includes discussion of a NASA report on earth object detection 1992 ( copy present) and IAU work in this area. There is also a copy of the official British report "Report of the task force on potentially hazardous earth objects". There is also correspondence with Spaceguard UK, an independent observatory, based in Powys, which studied NEO threats. Lovell was patron of this organization.
