Scope and Content

In 1967, Herman Bondi resigned as chair of the British National Committee for Astronomy, a standing committee of the council of the Royal Society, in order to become Director General of the European Space Research Organisation (ESRO). Lovell took over as chair of British National Committee A. This file contains minutes and correspondence relating to this work. Also contained are papers from the Space Ranging Research Committee, and an ad hoc committee considering lunar laser ranging and laser tracking (1972-1973).
