Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
This sub-series comprises the scrapbooks/diaries that were written and maintained after many of the Sedgwick Club excursions from the 1880s-1950s (with some omissions).
Arrangement
The volumes have been arranged chronologically as there was no clear original order to the collection.
Access Information
Many of the volumes are extremely fragile. Embrittlement is so severe in some cases that there is the threat of new fractures occuring with handling. Access to them may therefore be restricted until treatment by a paper conservator can take place. Please contact staff for further information
Accruals
The club does not currently create physical scrapbooks detailing their expeditions. However, the website includes details of all expeditions and in some cases photographs. The responsibility and long-term access to those is yet to be determined.
