Scope and Content

File containing corrected proofs of Three Russian poets: Margarita Aliger, Yunna Moritz, Bella Akhmadulina, edited and translated by Elaine Feinstein (Manchester: Carcanet New Press, 1979). The book was probably typeset in-house at Carcanet and was printed by Billings. Margaret Hutchinson appears to have been responsible for collating the proofs. This set of page proofs is complete apart from the preliminary sheets. The proofs have been corrected in both blue and red ink, although it is not evident what this distinction in colour denotes: it does not reflect the convention of marking typesetting errors in red and other changes in blue. The corrections are all in the hand of Hutchinson, whose usual practice was to use the author's set of proofs as the basis for the collated set, and add further corrections to those marked by the author, but there is no evidence to indicate that this is Feinstein's set.

The proofs consist of: two initial unnumbered pages, followed by a numbering sequence running 11-80.
