Contributors' proofs (incomplete)

Scope and Content

An incomplete set of contributors' proofs which has been reconstructed from the remaining papers. These are in the form of photocopied galleys or sections of galley proof which have been corrected. In most cases authors have initialled or signed their proofs; in other cases format and annotations suggest authors' proofs. Consists of: prose contributions from Levy, Davie and Arkell; poems by Waterman, Davie, Mills, Creagh, Celan (translated by Hamburger), Brackenbury and Belli (translated by Garioch). There is also a proof in a slightly different (larger) format of Mathias's book review; this has been corrected, but not in the hand of Helen Ramsbotham who prepared the collated galleys (in /4), and is presumably Mathias's own copy; a change in phrasing marked on the review here failed to be transferred to the galleys in /4, and must have been altered at a later stage of proofing.
