Book file for Peter Walton's first poetry collection Out of season (Manchester: North West Arts Association with Carcanet Press, 1977). The book appears to have been typeset in-house at Carcanet. This book file contains only one set of page proofs; the short length of some of the poems means that some of them have been typeset together on the same sheet in places. The proofs have been corrected in red ink; the handwriting and comments made in a letter from Walton (at CPA/2/2/119/2) suggest that these are Walton's own proofs. While a reference is made to the manuscript in relation to a stanza omitted from the poem 'Grasses', the manuscript itself is not preserved here.
