Warner's manuscript of the volume, in the form of a typescript introduction and English translations, with Corbiére's original French versions photocopied from Warner's chosen copy-texts; these photocopies are placed at the end of the typescript section. The manuscript has been extensively marked up in various different hands. There is some editing of Warner's introduction and numerous printing instructions, including notes originating at the printing house. There are a number of inserts, and sections of revised text which have been sellotaped to earlier pages. This may reflect the way the manuscript accumulated: Warner was sending Schmidt various Corbiére translations piecemeal over a period of time (as documented in her correspondence file at CPA/2/1/74).
Scope and Content
The manuscript includes different numbering sequences and a number of inserts, so the archivist has added running numbers throughout at the top left-hand corner of each sheet.
