Scope and Content

Book file relating to David Day's first collection of poems, Brass rubbings (Cheadle: Carcanet Press, 1975). This is represented by the manuscript only, which includes typescript versions of all the poems in the collection, with two different versions of 'Brass rubbing xxi', only one of which was selected for the published version. Minor corrections have been made by hand - presumably by Day - in black ink, and there are a small number of annotations relating to layout and formatting in blue ink and pencil. Some of the sheets have a note on the reverse indicating the journal in which the relevant poem first appeared. Stored with a typescript sheet [compiled by Val Warner] outlining queries relating to the collated proofs of the volume (which are stored with Day's correspondence at CPA/2/1/24/149).
