Scope and Content

A bundle of Pilinszky translations sent to Schmidt with a covering letter from John Bátki relating to the slow progress in preparing the book, and offering Schmidt further translations by himself and Frederic Will to add to the manuscript (some of which he had sent before and which overlap with those in CPA/1/1/1/78/5). Also includes one translation ('Postscript' at no. 18) by Edwin Morgan. The translations are in the form of ribbon, carbon and photocopy typescripts. Bátki's letter is sheet no. 1, his original envelope no. 57, and the poems included are as follows:
