Manuscript of the book, which only survives in part. It consists of: all the preliminary pages; Davie's introduction (copy typescript); half-title page for Part II; and Parts III and IV in their entirety. The manuscript has been put together using: copy typescript material; photocopies of Winters's work from published sources; and extracts of his work taken from published sources and taped onto new sheets. Robert Wells has marked up the manuscript with typesetting instructions.
Scope and Content
The manuscript had been foliated, although there are large gaps in this sequence due to the missing material. Folio numbering is as follows: 1-4 (and sheet 4 has an additional loose sheet clipped to it), 7-9 9a, 10-19, 136, and 273-308.
