Manuscript of the collection, consisting of the poems and the dedication. The format of the manuscript reflects the way Jennings's collections were put together, with poems being submitted to Schmidt in batches over time. The poems comprise a mixture of holograph manuscripts torn from notebooks, photocopies of holograph manuscripts from notebooks, and ribbon and carbon typescripts. There are no instructions for printing, indicating that the book was probably typeset in-house. On the reverse of the second sheet of 'A Meditation in March 1979' is another holograph poem called 'Spring and Love' which has been crossed through by Jennings. Another photocopied holograph poem, 'Cassandra' (on the same sheet as 'Braque's Dream') has also been crossed through.
