Manuscript

Scope and Content

Manuscript of the book. Includes carbon typescript contents page, introduction, glosses and selected bibliography. Henryson's texts take the form of individual pages photocopied from published sources, which have had typescript or manuscript glosses and line numbers added; the individual texts (or groups of texts) were divided by Barron into small booklets with paper wrappers which are retained here; the manuscript concludes with Barron's ribbon typescript notes. Henryson's texts have been foliated; page divisions have also been added during the typesetting process, which probably took place in-house at Carcanet. Stored with a letter to Schmidt from Barron (dated 28 August 1979) relating to the submission of the manuscript.

The total number of sheets given above includes the four paper wrappers.
