Scope and Content

Original typescript which was sent first to Oxford University Press; after rejection by them, Middleton arranged for this version to be sent in February 1974 directly to Schmidt at Carcanet Press who had undertaken to publish it. This version is as the published version, and additional preliminaries have been added by Carcanet. Includes some instructions on the layout of the 'Fossil Fish' sequence by Middleton, further typesetting instructions probably by Schmidt in red and blue ink, and some further annotation added by the printers.
