Administrative / Biographical History

The union was formed in 1894 by the amalgamation of the Bristol Clothiers' Cutters' Trade Association and the Leeds Wholesale Clothiers' Operatives' Union. In 1915 it was a founder member of the United Garment Workers' Union.
