Scope and Content

Comprises postcards, letters, and photographs from May Tizengauzen, Fanny Morley, and Lady Muriel Paget in the Soviet Union and England, Morley family history notes and obituaries with photographs of the Tizengauzen and Morley families in the English Home in Leningrad of the British Subjects in Russia Relief Association, photocopies of documents relating to Arkadii Tizengauzen's denunciation, arrest, trial, and sentence, 1928-1931, and rehabilitation document, 1989, together with two publications about Soviet Russia, further postcards and photographs of Russia, and various items of clothing and household use

Administrative / Biographical History

The Morley and Tiezengauzen families became closely involved in Lady Muriel Paget's British Subjects in Russia Relief Association following the arrest of May Tiznegauzen's husband and her own arrest shortly afterwards in the early 1930s. Fanny Morley travelled to Leningrad under Lady Muriel's auspices and succeeded in repatriating her daughter and grandchildren
