SPNM was the residuary legatee of Arthur A Paul's estate, inheriting over £100,000 in 1967. Arthur A Paul appears to have had no connection with the SPNM, although his brother Gerald Ethelberg Paul was a composer who died young having given up his career to be a songwriter. (he co-wrote BDB/S6/15). AA Paul dedicated a copy of "Contributions" to him on his birthday (24/11/1929). Gerald left part of his estate to charities that looked after musicians' welfare.
