Enclosed with the letters are photographs of J A Ransome, Thomas Ransome, Elizabeth Atkinson (John 's parents), Eliza Ransome, Mary Ann Ransome, Arthur Ransome, Eliza Brookhouse and an unidentified individual (possibly Joseph Ransome). Houghton also enclosed a sketch of a coat of arms from a silver tea urn formerly belonging to the Hulme family of Leek, Staffs.
