Administrative / Biographical History

Arthur Robert Green had a keen interest in the local history of Hampshire and church history. He was the author of The Saxon church at Breamore (1930 and 1960); Saxon architecture and sculpture in Hampshire (Winchester, 1951); and Sundials, incised dials or mass clocks: a study of the time markers of medieval churches (SPCK, 1926)

Conditions Governing Access

The Special Collections Division is available for anyone to use, regardless of whether you are attached to an academic institution. Separated Material

Green was secretary of the photographic section of the Hampshire Field Club and some of his papers have been incorporated in its archives in the Hampshire Record Office: HFC 61/1-5.
