Scope and Content

This file documents the work of the Shakespeare Association. It includes printed material and circular communications advertising the movement and a report of the Council of the Shakespeare Association for presentation at the Annual General Meeting in 1922.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Shakespeare Association was founded in connection with the Shakespeare Tercentenary and aimed to promote and support Shakespearean study and research and to promote the celebration of the Shakespeare Day. Chairman of the Shakespeare Association was Israel Gollancz.
