Scope and Content

EXTRACTS re. Dr. William Lewis' Charity from the Will and Codicil and from the Decree in the Chancery Suit 1733, list of trustees including T.L.D. Jones-Parry, esq. of Madryn, statement of property and summary of accounts. The Charity was set up to provide for the preaching of sermons in the parishes of Llangristiolus and Kerrickeinwen, co. Anglesey, and to help the poor, ministers' widows and provide for the education of poor boys from Anglesey. In addition the Charity Commissioners 1858 and 1860 decided to appropriate some of the funds to support the school in Llanaelhaiarn and to increase the salary of the schoolmaster of the National School in Llangristiolus.
