Scope and Content

LETTER: W. P. Yale, Plas yn Yale, [co. Denbigh] to his father T. P. Jones Parry, esq., Bath, in which he summarises his military career including the award of a medal for his part in the battle of Albuhera. After returning from France he served for a time in Ireland and in New South Wales for seven years. He points out that it will be impossible to continue his military career if he is forced to adhere to the conditions of Miss Yale's will, namely that he resides for 4 months of the year at Plas yn Yale. Furthermore he cannot afford to give up his career because the estate is heavily mortgaged and the income from it is only £250 p.a. He urges his father to give serious consideration to his problem.
