Ralph [Strachey] to Pippa [Philippa Strachey]

Scope and Content

Refers to something he had told his mother and that she has told P. (presumably his engagement) 'it has been agreed that we are to be friends! And that letters will be answered... and that's about all there is to be said about it'. Very anxious that P. should come out for the cold weather; he has a house ready for occupation in Nov [1900], and it might be possible to have a family gathering for Christmas (Dick and Grace and Oliver) and Calcutta is a great place at that season. And if Dorothy came too there would be somebody to go round with in the daytime. George Huddleston has been very ill but they are going home on leave in Oct. Sent from Lillooah.
