Fry writing from Aix en Provence. Weather has turned unseasonably cold with snow on leaves barely turning and he is trying to keep warm in the café of the Hotel des Thermes. He tried a bathe from the hot spring which comes up in the basement but it proved to be only tepid on the cold side. But the countryside is lovely and the Provencal peasant poets, and he has done a lot of painting out of doors. He is moving to the Hotel des Duex Orphelines where he will find lots of peasants and country folk as subjects. Envelope present.
