Ever since Dorothy burst into the dining room to announce the news [of Eleanor's engagement to Mr Rendel] she has tried to find ten minutes to write to her friend. Judging from the opinions she has heard about the young man she thinks she can congratulate her friend on her future son in law. Is the General satisfied? She hopes so and believes he is. Dorothy continues to work very well and all her professors are struck with her intelligence.
