Administrative / Biographical History

Rourke was tour director for the UK Autumn tour, which started in Edinburgh in August and ended in Sheffield in December.

Written by Eve Ensler in 1999, The Vagina Monologues emerged after she interviewed 200 women of varying ages and cultural backgrounds and asked them about their opinions on sex, relationships and violence towards women. The piece is presented as a series of monologues, with different actors performing each. The work has attracted much media attention and celebrity endorsements. Notable women who have performed in previous productions include Glenn Close, Jane Fonda and Cyndi Lauper.
